The Living Christ

Man.. the time is going so quick.

So here’s a rundown of our week.

We had exchanges with the Inverness elders. It was Elder Buck, Heer, and I together. We had a good exchange and worked hard. Elder Buck is super diligent and faithful. Such a great missionary. It was a lot of fun.

We had another good lesson with Hannah and Bobby. We read the first 12 verses of the Book of Mormon with them. It’s a great way to introduce the Book of Mormon and then invite them to finish the chapter.

Netflix and.. Bless?

Week ONE HUNDRED!

Hey y’all, this last week has been a blur so I’ll do my best to share what has happened.
We’ve been doing all sorts of finding. Pretty much all of our time is spent finding. We’ve had such a hard time lately finding people that want to learn more about our message. It’s so frustrating because people don’t know what they’re missing out on. “I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption.” Omni 1:26

100% Humid

We’ve had a pretty good week. We had exchanges with the AP’s, I was with Elder Swainston and we had a good time biking and doing some finding. The humidity was about 90% so I was soaked. All in all it was a good exchange and we actually found a YSA so now he’s our investigator since Hoover is still our area 🙂

Peace in Christ

Alright so its only been a couple days since last pday but great things have happened.

On Thursday we went to the temple and had a great experience there with the other missionaries. Its a blessing to have a temple in our mission.

On Friday we had MLC which was really good. We talked a lot about our mission culture and where its at and the vision for what we want it to become.

Birmingham YSA

Hey everyone! This last week has been great! A lot has happened.
So first off, we had transfers. I was transferred from Montgomery to the Birmingham YSA branch. My new companion is Elder Davis. He’s from Nevada and actually came out with me so I know him from the MTC. He’s a great missionary and we’ve been having a great time here in Birmingham.

Goodbye Montgomery

I’m getting transferred. 😦 I’ve loved Montgomery so I’m pretty sad to be leaving. I’ve met some great people and made some awesome memories. This place will definitely be missed!

On Tuesday we had exchanges so I was with Elder Cluff. We ate dinner with this older lady and I’m pretty sure her food gave me food poisoning lol.

Easters

Alright so here’s some things from my week!

I finished the Book of Mormon again this week! The message of remember always sticks out to me. Constantly the prophets tell the people to remember. If we don’t remember our spiritual experiences we are so quick to forget them.

Smart Phonez

So our mission is now a technology mission so I now have a smartphone and we are using Facebook to contact members and investigators. We can use it for pretty much whatever as long as its being used to fulfill our purpose. All of our record keeping is moved to the smartphone so we have to spend 2 hours a day entering in old information into the area book app until its all in.. we have 2 area books so this is gonna take a while.

Jordans

Well those two bible referrals that we had appointments with this week didn’t go through. We set up another appointment with each of them later in the week and same thing happened.

Yesterday we had a lady  named Nell who we met a month or so ago come to church. She lives in Union Springs 45 minutes away but is in town taking care of her aunt. Her aunt lives around the corner from the Carter Hill building and we had stake conference so it all worked out. She couldn’t find her dress shoes so she wore her Jordans. She enjoyed it and very excitedly told us she wanted to talk with the pastor and hurried up front after and talked to one of the members of the stake presidency. We’ve been trying to help her understand the restoration but she just doesn’t get it and we don’t know how we can be more clear that there is one true church.

samuel.furgeson@myldsmail.net Week 79 – Alabama Birmingham Mission Montgomery Alabama We had interviews with President Sainsbury this week but he was 2 hours behind and we had an appointment so we waited 2 hours and had a 5 minute interview. We met with Franchezaka and we were planning on teaching her the restoration but she had…

No car no problem?

Roll Tide!! Alabama are national champions again!

Our car has been in the shop for a week now. There was a dent in the side from last year that the mission wanted fixed. We miss her dearly. We’ve made it work though. We’ve had a lot more time to walk or ride our bikes. I’ve actually enjoyed the biking its nice getting some exercise  in. Yesterday we walked 11 miles according to my fitbit!

2018!

So this week we met a lady named Felicia. She had been homeless for a little while but now has a home and is trying to get closer to God. We had a great lesson with her where we taught her the retoration. At the end of the lesson she said, “Man I just feel so good right now. I feel like I’ve never felt before.”

During district meeting Elder Hanratty gave a training about time and how precious it is. Time just moves and moves. Gotta make those moments count.

Church this week was pretty interesting haha. So on Saturday we visited an active lady in Tuskegee and encouraged her to share her testimony. She bore her testimony for like 15 minutes on Sunday haha. There was another testimony where someone shared that their
