Week 100 – Alabama Birmingham Mission
Week ONE HUNDRED!
Hey y’all, this last week has been a blur so I’ll do my best to share what has happened.
We’ve been doing all sorts of finding. Pretty much all of our time is spent finding. We’ve had such a hard time lately finding people that want to learn more about our message. It’s so frustrating because people don’t know what they’re missing out on. “I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption.” Omni 1:26
We were able to meet with Abby and Savannah and share the Plan of Salvation with them. It’s different from what they’ve been taught so they will be praying about it. And sad news, Abby moves back to Idaho in a week and a half or so 😦
Railroad Park has been rough this week. We got into multiple bashes there. One dude kept getting in my face and telling me to love more. He kept implying I was racist and then would turn to elder Ramsey and say I love you man.
So you’re probably wondering about the title of this. Let me explain. We were asked to give a blessing to a members cousin, she gave us the address so we went to her cousins house and knocked on the door. She answered the door and let us in and said we could sit on the couch so we did. She sat down next to us and grabbed the remote and turned her Netflix show right back on and her eyes were glued to it. We tried making small talk but she’d say like one word and not look away from the TV. After about 10 minutes her cousin, the member, got there and we gave her a blessing and then left. It was a little strange.
One thing I read this week and have been thinking about is this scripture, Mosiah 5:12.
“12 I say unto you, I would that ye should remember to retain the name written always in your hearts, that ye are not found on the left hand of God, but that ye hear and know the voice by which ye shall be called, and also, the name by which he shall call you”
I’ve been thinking about what name I have written on my heart. If we spend all our time at work, or playing basketball, and never make time to listen to the Savior then what will be written on our heart when our life is over?
I hope y’all had a good week. I’m grateful to be a missionary and the experiences I’ve had over the last 100 weeks!!
Also we made a video for our training at zone conference this week. Lol here it is:
