Week 98 – Alabama Birmingham Mission
Man it’s crazy that another transfer has gone by. So the news is that Elder Davis is getting transferred and Elder Heer and I will be staying here. And we found out this morning that we’re going to be in another trio. Elder Ramsey is coming here from Ensley. Its funny cause we had exchanges with Ensley this last week and it was Elder Ramsey, Heer, and I together so we will be working together for the next 6 weeks.
In terms of missionary work things are going well. We’ve been able to have a couple of good visits with members. We’ve been focusing on inviting them to share the gospel. I’ve found that by asking about if they’ve had any missionary experiences most people have had some or share someone they’ve been thinking of.
Jared, one of the members has a friend named Courtlyn who is super cool. She has come to some activities and our sports nights and now has a Book of Mormon!
The fourth of July was great. We did service at the American Village in Montevallo. It’s set up like an old town in the 1700s and people are dressed up. Us and about 20 other missionaries were there at different times of the day. We answered people’s questions and directed them to where they were trying to go. Tons of nice people! And that night we had an up close view of the fireworks that they shoot off from the Vulcan over Birmingham. Man I love this place.
I finished the Book of Mormon again this week. The Book of Mormon is true! I know it. It was written for our day. It is evidence of the restoration of Jesus Christ’s church. It has been a source of guidance and revelation to me. God is still speaking. He IS the great I AM not the great He was.
I can’t believe I’m starting my last transfer this week. 6 more weeks.. I’m going to work hard. No regrets!
62 Wherefore, let us go to and labor with our might this last time, for behold the end draweth nigh, and this is for the last time that I shall prune my vineyard.
