Week 94 – Alabama Birmingham Mission
Alright so things are going well. We’ve been doing tons of finding. From tracting, store contacting, talking to people on the streets. We met a lot of new people this week. Not too many YSA but one team on dream. We met an older guy who said to call him Pops. His wife passed away in 2006 and he doesn’t have many friends. He reads the bible and goes to a church but we told him about the Book of Mormon and how it can help him as well as coming to our church and becoming a part of the church family.
We met a guy named Donovan and his cousin Courtney. We met a young family. And started teaching one of the members friend from work named McColl. We had a pretty good week.
Keep Landon in your prayers he’s going through some stuff right now.
Raksha, one of the members, was baptized in September and wanted to meet up with us on friday and pass out cold waters at the park. Friday was supposed to be really hot. We met her there and walked around the park giving people cold water. Man it was awesome! We had so many great conversations about the gospel and people were super nice back to us which is great cause a lot of the time people run away from us.
Something from our mission presidents letter this week that sticks out to me. “If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have the time to do it over?” -John Wooden
Thanks for all the prayers and support!
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
