Week 91 – Alabama Birmingham Mission
Another week down! It’s been a good week.
Its officially hot and humid and in the words of Elder Schrubb, “It’s moister than an oyster.”
So last Monday we met a guy named Christian. He came to FHE with a member he works with. He lived in Utah for about 5 years and wants to be baptized but his family is totally against it and he lives with them and if he gets baptized they said they’ll kick him out. So we’re praying something will change their hearts.
On Wednesday we were able to go to Roberts baptism. Robert was taught in Georgia but moved to Leeds. He’s YSA age but he’s going to be in the Leeds ward for now until he gets on his feet. So Landon took us out there to show him some support. It was a good baptism and he was baptized by someone who was baptized a couple months ago!
We got caught in a rain storm while riding our bikes. You’re either wet from sweat or wet from rain, not sure which is worse.
A squirrel nailed the window while we were weekly planning.
Its been super hot and we’ve been doing tons of finding.
On Sunday we had stake conference. A new stake president was called and president Johnson was released because he was called to be an area 70. Elder Wokolo from the 70 was there and gave an awesome talk. He told his conversion story, it was so interesting and powerful.
We’re trying to find new investigators but a lot of the students have taken off for the summer so we’re trying to figure that all out.
“Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God.” Helaman 3:35
