Week 83 – Alabama Birmingham Mission

Montgomery Alabama

Man time is flying! It’s already the last week of March. Summer is just right around the corner.

So this week we met a lady named Barbara. She had requested a free bible so we brought it to her and shared the Book of Mormon with her as well and told her about what we do as missionaries. We met with her twice this week and have been keeping in touch through facebook. Its so cool to be able to send little videos to investigators on days that you cant see them.

Steven cancelled on us twice this week and hasn’t gotten back to us.. getting dropped is always a bummer.

We met with Kim again this week. It had been a while since we’d seen her. She has a lot that shes going through and was pretty sad. We were able to talk about God’s love for her but she was still pretty sad.

So we have an app on our phone that we have to get all of our paper records into. We are supposed to spend about 2 hours a day doing it until its done. We have a long way to go but once every thing is in there its gonna be super useful. We’ve spent the last couple days just trying some of the old potentials from old media referrals and we’ve been able to set up some appointments for this week.

One of the potentials we tried was from a couple months ago. She was a bible referral and the address wouldn’t come up on our gps and we were never able to get a hold of her. But the address showed up on the app so we tried her. She lived in this big wooden house in the middle of the woods. It had a creepy feel to it, nobody was home but there was  a little clown head sitting on the desk right inside the doorway. Kinda glad nobody was home.

Looked over while we were at a red light yesterday and the dude next to us had one hand on the steering wheel and the other holding his bud light. smh people.

Christ lives! He conquered death and sin. #becauseofhim so can we! We can’t stray too far from his grasp. There is always a way back. I’m grateful for the time I have as a missionary and the time I have to serve him.

-Elder Furgeson

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 1:10-12
