Week 80 – Alabama Birmingham Mission
So this week we had two media referrals for people who requested free bibles and they are actually somewhat interested in learning more about the restored gospel. We gave them their bibles and shared the Book of Mormon with them and gave them each one. We have appointments with each of them this week.
We taught Amir about God and prayer. He said his first prayer with us!
We had dinner with the Rashid’s they’re cool. Sister Rashid isn’t a member but has read the Book of Mormon and has had the missionary lessons before. We talked to them about the Book of Mormon and invited them to read it together. Turns out they got married on Lake Tahoe getting married 2 weeks after I camped there before I came on my mission.
Some girl walked an extra 50 yards to avoid walking by us at the park.
We played basketball with our little neighbors for a couple minutes this week. One of the kids was holding onto the hoop and tried lifting it up and then looked to the other kid and said, “Wow you skrong boy” they’re like 5
“At the end of the day I ain’t got a problem with y’all” – Lady in the projects in Tuskegee
“I’ve seen a lot of shiz in my travels and you guys aren’t the weirdest” Franchezaka’s friend
We got our transfer news at about 10:20 last night. We’ll both be staying!
I’m really happy about that I love it here!
