Week 75 – Alabama Birmingham Mission
3100 Lorna Road, Suite 107
Birmingham, AL 35216
Another week gone by. It’s been a good one. So this week we had transfers. Elder Braaksma got transferred to Anniston and I stayed in Montgomery and got Elder Beach. He’s from Logan Utah and has been out about 6 months.
We were able to go up to the temple on Friday with Sister Millington and the Villalobos so they could do baptisms in the temple for the first time. It was great! Joey got baptized for 2 of my family names and they brought their own family names so that was way cool.
One of the taco bell’s here burnt down and thats the big news in Montgomery. Someone got shot right down the street from it 2 weeks ago but the taco bell burning down has been the biggest news in the last 3 months. RIP Taco Bell we used to go there every Wednesday after doing service at the zoo. People held a candle light vigil for it hahaha.
Also last night we visited some less actives and we visited one and he was super drunk. He came outside and was like I’m gonna tell you guys a big secret don’t tell ANYONE. We have bedbugs. And then he said he knows hes fallen off the wagon and should get back on. Then he put his arms around us and said a prayer haha it was super funny.
I studied about patience this week and in Preach My Gospel it talks about how its not just waiting but its waiting without becoming frustrated or anxious. I’m working on being patient with people and with God because I get frustrated AND anxious with people. I want things to happen now. I want people to progress now. But I have to remember that God is in charge and all I can do is my best and then wait for the Lord to do the rest.
17 Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.
