Week 67 – Alabama Birmingham Mission

We’re going to the temple today so our pday is today.
Its been like a week and a half since the last pday so this is much needed haha.
We don’t know whats up with Tiffany. We stopped by and knocked on her door last night and we saw her for the first time in about 2 weeks. She was holding her phone and said one second and closed the door. We waited in the rain for 15 minutes and she didn’t come back.
Taylor, from Tuscaloosa is living in Montgomery now. She’s in the boundaries for the other ward but we went with the other missionaries to introduce them and had a fun little visit.
The Nativity went really well they said over 2000 people came through and probably 60% were non members.
We’ve been able to share the #LightTheWorld video with a good amount of people. Its a great little thing to share with people. We shared it with a less active family last night and they loved it and the wife asked for a blessing and said she was going through a hard time. Her husbands a truck driver so is gone a lot. She said she immidiatly felt better after the blessing. She told us they need to start coming back to church and she wants her son to get the priesthood. He’s 14 or 15. 🙂
We were driving yesterday and saw a homeless lady pushing her cart in the rain. We had 2 umbrellas in the car so decided we’d give her one. We pulled up next to her and asked her if she’d like an umbrella. She had rain dripping down her face and looked so cold. She smiled and gratefully took the umbrella.
I’m grateful for the opportunities the Lord gives us to serve others.
I finished the Book of Mormon for the 3rd time out here this week. The Book of Mormon can bring us closer to God than any other book. I have come to know Jesus Christ through the Book of Mormon.
11 But he that believeth these things which I have spoken, him will I visit with the manifestations of my Spirit, and he shall know and bear record. For because of my Spirit he shall know that these things are true; for it persuadeth men to do good.
