Week 47 – Alabama Birmingham Mission
800 Energy Center Blvd Apt. 205
Northport, AL 35473
As I’m sure many of you know, it was Cow Appreciation Day on Tuesday. The Sisters had us take care of a mouse in their apartment in exchange for cow spots for free chick fil a. Totally worth it!
We met with the family we met while tracting; Brandi, Reuben and their 3 kids. We taught them the Restoration and it went pretty well and we’ll be going back tomorrow so pray that it will go well!
We’ve gotten a lot of summer rain storms which kind of mess everything up cause it just pours and then its hard to go knock on doors unless you want to get drenched and after it rains it gets even more humid. It goes from being insanely humid to even more insanely humid.
We helped a member move and I was wearing tan pants lol remind me to not wear tan pants if I’m gonna get all sweaty.
We were tracting and saw a cool car thing in someones garage and so I figured I’d ask him about his car cause who doesn’t like talking about their car? He showed us under the hood and started it up and everything it was pretty cool and he said we could come back on Friday to share a message with him.
You know it’s weird cause out here the members and investigators our world but to them we are just a small part of what is happening in their lives.
In my studies this week I read about the Liahona leading Lehi’s family through the wilderness and across the ocean. I paid particular attention to the steps required for the Liahona to guide them because in Alma 37, Alma compares the Liahona to the words of Christ. I know that if we take the necessary steps to prepare ourselves we can be led by the scriptures to our “promised land.”
44 For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you
a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this
compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.
There’s a lot of pictures this week haha
