Week 27 – Alabama Birmingham Mission
The beginning of this week was mostly just visiting our investigators and friends so that Elder Prestwich could say goodbye. Then on Wednesday we drove with the West Point missionaries to Birmingham where we got our new companions, my new companion is Elder Collins and he’s from Phoenix Arizona, he’s been out 9 months. After transfers we went to Moe’s Barbecue and it was just packed with missionaries.
He had a doctors appointment in Birmingham on Friday to get his moles removed so we made the 2 and a half hour drive to Birmingham again. We met some of the other missionaries in Birmingham after their district meeting and had lunch. Elder Prestwich was there too! I saw the man Elder Lamatina from the MTC he was rocking the “waterfall” tie knot.
Emily from the YSA gave us tickets to a nacho, popcorn, cotton candy gathering at ZTA it was pretty fun. Great opportunities for finding!
I’m excited to still be in Starkville, I love it. We’re hoping to get a lot done this transfer.
I just wish people would understand that small sacrifices bring great blessings! It’s so frustrating to see small things hold people back.
The Saviors great and eternal sacrifice broke the bands of death and hell. Though our sacrifices cannot compare to the Saviors they too can set us free and because of the Saviors sacrifice we can be free of guilt and sorrow.
33 Behold, he sendeth an invitation unto all men, for the arms of mercy are extended towards them, and he saith: Repent, and I will receive you.
34 Yea, he saith: Come unto me and ye shall partake of the fruit of the tree of life; yea, ye shall eat and drink of the bread and the waters of life freely;
